Images of Kasbah
Restaurant Information
Have you ever dreamt of going/travelling to Morocco? Waking around the souks of Fez and Marrakech, relaxing in the sumptuous surroundings of a riyadh enveloped in a riot of colours from the lanterns, fabrics and cushions, not to mention trying out the famed exotic food and spices while listening over the melee to North African chants and the haunting berber flute?
Well, next time you're in Boracay, I strongly suggest you make your way to Boat Station one where you will happen on the Kasbah (the Philippines first and foremost Moroccan bar & restaurant). This place is the real deal.
A veritable Aladdin's cave of Moroccan lanterns, mirrors, pouffes and other exquisite curios. All guests are greeted with mint tea served from on high as is the tradition in Morocco on huge silver tea trays which double up as tables. The seating is low & intimate, relaxation & comfort are the order of the day. The food is authentic Moroccan. The lamb tagine cooked with almonds & prunes is highly recommended. Simmered for 2 hours with the meat falling off the bone. Did I mention the cocktails? My favourite was the Marrakech Express, but don't pass off the opportunity of sampling Rock the Kasbah and the interestingly named Berber Black Sheep. For the not so adventurous, perhaps a Kasbah milk sheikh might just do the trick.
This maybe a moroccan place but it reminds me of how Boracay used to be, located at the more exclusive far end of Boat staion one (next to Discovery Shores/Fridays), the Kasbah is destined to become a Boracay institution.
